Our Club

The Anglian Boxer Club held it's first Members Limited Inaugural Show in 1977, the Judge was Dick Witham. The Club was formed by a small group of Boxer enthusiasts, several of whom served on the Committee for the rest of their lives.

The Club was delighted to be given Kennel Club Championship Show status and held it's first Championship Show in 1990. It has held a Championship Show annually ever since, until 2007, when due to a rotation of CC’s the club was unable to hold a one. The Club did, however, hold two very successful Open Shows with excellent entries.

From 2008 the club continued to hold it's usual CH Show, at Newark & Notts Showground. However, with the exhibitors first and foremost in mind, their comfort and that of their dogs, the club decided to hold the 2014 Championship show at the Bushfield Leisure Centre, Peterborough. The show is held in January, but a warm welcome will await those attending, with super efficient heating. There is ample parking, it is very easy to find - whichever direction you are traveling from. There are pull out rows of seating where spectators can enjoy watching the judging in both rings at the same time. A choice of refreshments always available at reasonable prices. This venue proved so popular that the club has decided to make it a permanent move.

We hope to see you there at our next CH Show. The Club also holds an Open Show each year in September. In 2013 we moved to a Saturday instead of Sunday. The reason for this was to avail the club of the excellent new venue, the Sea Scouts Building, Farndon .... which is approx. 1 mile from Newark Showground, so easily accessible. It is a lovely spot by the river Trent. There is ample parking and spacious indoor and outdoor facilities. A warm welcome is assured to old and new members/exhibitors, and the home cooked food on offer is second to none.
